Was Hong Kong not taken from the Chinese and developed into a thriving, capitalistic economy by the British? Did the United States not give Japan a royal beat down (they deserved it), humiliate them by not allowing them to fly their beloved flag, force them to adopt a new Constitution, and then set up military bases there? That's East Coast-type supremacy right there.
I mean, if prestige, power, money and status is your GOD, then sorry, the West Coast ain't it.
Eh, those beatdowns and such aren't all that much to be proud of. Colonialism and racism wasn't all that it was cracked up to be for most people.
