exactly Stycoti...I do not have any problem with those beliefs either. I think what everyone is saying is don't come to Utah with an attitude and you will most likely be fine. Using words like Pagan to describe things that most christians celebrate is attitude and will get you nowhere fast. We have JW freinds and they have never said we were disrespecting God or that our celebrations are pagan.

true. i tend to get easily sidetracked and forget what it is that we are talking about.

i would certainly argue that going anywhere and purposefully disrespecting the local beliefs, even if you think that you are doing them a favor, is going to turn people away from you rather than allow them to get to know whatever truth you think might be behind your message or beliefs.

Has anybody else stopped to consider the fact that the OP was probably not so much a genuine question as much as a subtle attempt at proselytizing?

The OP has not posted since the original question. Many off topic posts in this thread.

As a Netzarim Jew I face this yearly as well so I can relate. Indeed it seems these pagan based holidays are strongly embraced by the xtain world. Worse yet they make a huge issue here out of Halloween. I just ignore it. Most of the Neighbors know what and who we are so they don't bother us about it. We just ignore it and wait for it to pass. Moderator cut: belongs in Religion, not here

If you don't like what others celebrate, the best thing to do is ignore it. It's called "live and let live." Maybe you've heard of that concept?
