So I may be going back to school in Hillsboro. My wife is a teacher with a Washington license and would try to get a job on the Washington side - we're thinking Vancouver? Is commuting on the Max kinda possible? My classes would be afternoons or eves for the first year. Oh, and we have two kids ages 4 and 2 that we'd have to find part/full-time care for. Would love honest feedback. What don't we know from looking at this with just the internet as a source?

My husband commutes to Hillsboro Monday through Thursday from Washougal. The drive takes him approx. 50 minutes in the morning (4am) and 1:15 hours in the afternoon (3pm).... less traffic during those hours though. I imagine if you lived near 205/Mill Plain, you could shoot across the bridge to the Gateway station and get to Hillsboro in an hour total each way. There is a transit station in Fishers Landing (GREAT schools for your little ones in a couple years) where you could hop on a bus to Portland as well...there is one in Hazel Dell too. Also, there are day care facilities (in-home and commercial) all over in the Fishers Landing/Mill Plain area. Hope that helps a little! Good luck!
