Or is it even worth it to stay in Canada and i should just try my luck in Los Angeles.

As it was mentioned - the reason why there are so many Hollywood blockbusters shot in Vancouver is simple - filming it here is way cheaper than in the US.

Yes, Vancouver is a birthplace to many fine actors like Seth Rogen, Ryan Renolds or Cobie Smulders but these people made their breakthrough outside Vancouver - for example Cobie Smulders - if there was no show set in the Big Apple about a whiney architect who can not get into a steady relationship she wouldn't have chance to make her breakthrough from all those small roles.

So first try to find smaller parts like TV commercials or so around Toronto and later, when you will have more experience and will you have financial independence, then try exploring possibilities in other cities.

Cheap is an understatement ... Vancouver has made an art of the low budget movie. For every blockbuster there's probably 30 that range from not so good to awful. This low budget cottage industry seems to be doing fine, apparently by a seemingly insatiable appetite on the part of the consumer looking for escapism over content. Google and you will find many promoters seeking investors. Craigslist too.
