Hey BC folks (Hi Nat)

I will be up in Vancouver for a few weeks in April and was wondering if you have any experience skiing in Whistler mid to late April. I know they are typically open through May, but was wondering if you could chime in on the conditions. Wanted to break away for a few days if possible.

Thanks in advance.

It's typically not that great around that time, icy, slushy and even pure soil near the base. Ride the lifts as high as you can and stay within the boundaries of the top few lifts. Earlier in April of course the better.

This type of question might get more responses if you ask it on a travel forum

Thanks for the heads up and advice. If it was a ski trip specifically I would have definitely visited at another time but good to know what to expect if I do decide to incorporate it into my visit.

Thanks for responding regardless. I will take a brewery recommendation or two in place of the ski advice if you happen to have one.

The scene is constantly changing and growing, but, I have enjoyed are 33 acres, Main Street Brewing, and Brassneck. Haven't been but Powell Brewing, Bomber Brewing, are on my list.

These all make local, beers, there are tons more of course.

Then you have the usual rooms/pubs that serve up bigger menus, and have selections from around here and the rest of the world.

They'd be the Alibi Room which apparently makes an effort to pair your beer with the food.

St Augustines which has at live beer list, including many beers from the local ones listed above.

Biercraft, a local place that now has three locations.

Then lastly, and I even hesitate to suggest it, and they do have one in Toronto as well, but Beer Craft Market in Olympic Village. If you haven been to the Olympic Village it's a good excuse to go. It's massive, the opposite of a brew pub, but has a good selection and heck, if you're walking by you might as well have a beer.

I suggest you Google these and see what fits, with type and location for you.

Have fun!
