According to an article, Is That Bacon On Your Plate?, in The New York Jewish Week, "Vegetarian food products that taste like bacon are getting the rabbinic seal of approval".

These kosher "taste like bacon products" include bacon salt, bacon-flavored popcorn, and Baconnaise, as well as non-edibles, such as bacon lip balm and “Mmmmvelopes,” envelopes with a bacon-flavored seal strip. The newest product, which launched at the end of last year and is appearing on supermarket shelves now, is “Bacon Gravy” mix.

And a kosher bacon-flavored rub for meats is currently in development.

It's a rare day Walter doesn't have the right answer!

My son's a vegetarian & he doesn't want to eat anything that tastes like meat.
