I've recently discovered sweet potatoes. They are easy to digest and still provide some energy. Peppermint tea also.

What are your favorite foods to eat when ill?

falaffel balls in gluten free rice pita bread.

Just add water to the box and let it set 10 min

Mayo or yogurt in the pita bread (no wheat) and sliced tomato

Chicken soup is probably best though.

Get free bones from the butcher, boil them and have some broth.

Then you won't feel like you've killed an aminal (bones are often tossed out into trash)

And you didn't consume the animal meat

Tom yum soup with tofu, vegetables and lots of chili pepper and lime juice. Check that there isn't any shrimp in jarred tom yum paste.

Scrambled tofu with cumin and turmeric, sliced avocado, thinly sliced red onion, Veganaise with lemon and garlic, butter lettuce, thinly sliced tomato.

OR - mellow turmeric and mushroom mild soup.

Melon. All kinds. Pears. Baked, poached or whole. Stiffed with walnuts, Vermont maple syrup, and cinnamon.

Angel hair pasta and garlic lemon sauce.

Soup. Ramen. Fruit cups. Applesauce. Cereal with almond milk. Herbal tea.

I keep chicken noodle soup in the cupboard for when my dog gets sick. If I want to rehydrate my dog, and she isn't drinking, chicken noodle soup will get her to drink and eat the soup. But, no chicken for me anymore.

Before switching to a plant-based diet, chicken soup was always my default food. There's always BRAT, which is vegan, but that gets old and boring quick. You have all listed much more interesting foods! What a variety

I made a nice cauliflower and potato curry with extra turmeric, served over rice - it worked out really well during my last cold.

Melon was good, too, in moderation.

Next time I may try doing something with miso. Some kind of soup.

Thanks for sharing, everyone. Keep the ideas coming.

Garlic and herb Thai soup.

Everyone in my family calls it "sick soup" because it always makes us feel a little better when sick or injured.

Will you share your method for making it? Sounds good.
