I know that Ventura County has many hiking trails and parks, but I'm asking about a place that's relatively flat that attracts all kinds - runners, walkers, bikes, skates, etc.

If you've ever exercised around the Rose Bowl perimeter you know what I'm looking for. I'm not opposed to the many trails we have, but as a solo exerciser being around a lot of other people doing the same would make me feel safer.

The boardwalk and coastal bike path has that. From the fairgrounds down to the Marina. It's most crowded between the Fairgrounds and the pier, but that's only maybe a mile or so, if you include running out and back on the pier.

Duh! Why didn't I think of this earlier? Thanks for the reminder.

I did this walk yesterday. I didn't start from Marina Park but from the state beach parking lot, heading west to around the fairgrounds. The path wasn't as active as I expected, but it was just as well since the walk/bike paths are kind of narrow for bi-directional traffic.

It's a nice walk if you don't mind the sea breeze, small stretches of isolation, and a handful of beach bums.

Gonna try and do it regularly.

Seabridge in Oxnard is one place. Another is from Oxnard Shores to Hollywood beach near the Colony

So I walked around Seabridge a few days ago and walked Oxnard Shores today.

Seabridge could have been more of what I was looking for if the walking path was longer (I could have walked around the homes that the bridges take you to, but that doesn't feel right to me).

In Oxnard Shores, I started from Oxnard Beach Park. I opted not to take the walk/bike path that goes around the harbor, and instead walked the beach. It was a pleasant walk with not too many people.

Seabridge was fun, but I'll probably stick to Oxnard Beach for future walks as it's not too short a walk but not too long either for a round trip walk. Thanks for the tips.

P.S.
I did notice some (fresh looking) gang related graffiti near the volleyball nets at the south end of Oxnard Beach. Does anyone know if this beach is a hangout for gang members?
