Hi there,

We've rented a cottage on Lake Champlain in Colchester for 2 weeks in August and want to do some exploring of the NEK as we've never been farther North than Stowe and really want to experience it's beauty.

Can anyone recommend any particular areas/towns/hikes in the NEK to check out?

We love to hike and bike so any info on them would be great. We have 3 children, 15, 9 & 7.

Thanks!

I would go to Lake Willoughby. Hike up Mt. Pisgah or Mt. Hoar. Bring your suits for a swim at the beach afterward. Drive over to Burke Mountain and up the toll road. Peruse Baileys & Burke store. Head south through Lyndonville & St. J, then across 2 to Montpelier, and 89 north back to Colchester.
