Heard through a friend that New Hampshire is pushing a bill that would mirror VT's current gun laws. No permit to purchase or carry a concealed handgun. I believe VT is currently the only U.S. state that allows this and it is often referred to as the Vermont Carry.

We're not the only one. Alaska, Arizona and Wyoming are the same (WY only for residents right now though). We were simply the first, or, more accurately, we're the only state that never restricted the right when others did.

Virginia is ok for laws where I live but you need to take classes (which isn't a bad thing) to get your carry and conceal permit which I have done. Maryland is horrible....there is such a long waiting period. My little brother went up to Vermont and went to the local police station to ask them about the laws with concealed carry and he said they looked at him like he had a third eye - LOL!

NJ was/is ridiculous! in 1994 when I applied for my first purchase permit it took 3-4 months. I asked about a carry permit, and the police looked at me like a criminal. Swiftly asking "why do you think you need that". I was surprised, and went to pick up my new hand gun... Never asked again. I like the idea of classes covering weapon familiurization and safety (like my hunter's ed before I could get a hunting permit), but I really dislike the state barring me from my rights. I see little reason to carry, but believe it's my choice
