Hi! A friend asks:

"We'll be at a meeting in Rutland and I would like to bring our dog as we will be away from home most of the day. I think our meeting is downtown. Is there a place in town, or nearby, where we can walk and let him run off-leash?"

Having "only" cats, I don't know the answer to this. Do you?

Thanks!

I'd love ANY info on where to take my puppy in this frozen ice land...just walking her in my driveway is SCARY for me (ice and snow).
She's not too thrilled either.
We have a great park down the road but it's buried under X inches of snow and ice.

We live very near Rotary Park, which I would recommend to my friend except it's exactly as you describe the park near you -- buried in snow & ice.

I hope someone will help us with dog playground options!

There is an inn in West Rutland that is dog-friendly - can't remember it's name, but it may be the only inn in Westside...you may want to give them a call and ask them.
Good luck!

Thank you! Great suggestion, to ask the The Paw House Inn - West Rutland, Vermont. I'll do it now. :-)

Okay. The Paw House Inn says that Rutland has a leash law, so everyone should remain aware of that. However, in some of the really nice city parks, one of which has great hiking trails, he pointed out (and I remembered) that people let their dogs run off-leash and it's always been fine. There is that risk, though, of getting cited.
