Though Battlefield 3 was the first fps EVER to give call of duty a fight.....Battlefield 4 could be THEE actual game that takes a big chunk out of the COD sales. I can see myself passing on MW4 completely and just play Battlefield 4 (i've bought every call of duty since MW2, and they're getting old and stale)

Is this the same engine as BF3? Either way it looks incredible.

BF3 ran on the Frostbite 2.0 game engine.

BF4 is going to run on the Frostbite 3.0 engine.

I don't know. I mean, it looks great and I can clearly see the improvements ... but it's more of the same, isn't it ? I wish they continued the Bad Company 2 story or do something similar for single player, that was fun. BF3 single player campaign was "meh".
Having said that, I am looking forward to using that revolver grenade launcher in multiplayer, I wonder how they're going to nerf it so it's not overpowered.
Any word on when the beta will be accessible ? As an owner of the latest Medal of Honor game (which is very very bad, by the way) I'm supposed to get early access to it...

Perhaps you take a slight health hit every time it's fired.

BTW, are they ever going to make a FPS where you can't run, jump, and shoot at the same time?

Slight health hit but huge suppression would work I guess. My bet is they will tweak and patch it several times as people will find a way to abuse it

As for the FPS you're looking for, there is one like that. It's called Arma and as the authors call it, it's a "sandbox military simulator". Part 3 is on the way, I only played Arma 1 for a while and as it turned out, fps skills from battlefield and cod and whatnot didn't mean squat there. Personally I don't mind the arcade approach but if you're looking for realism, Arma seems like the way to go.
Now that I think of it, there's an other game like that, I haven't played it unfortunately but from what I heard, it's solid - Red Orchestra 2. Set during ww2 the game is brutal and unforgiving, but at the same time very rewarding once you master it.

looks good, but it's EA, so I'll remain skeptical.

Would you like an extended clip in multiplayer? That will be 4.99 please.
