Warrenton, Winchester, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Lexington, Buena Vista-Which is most conservative-least conservative? I know Virginia is a conservative state (with the exception of NOVA) but I'm wondering if any of the places I've listed above are middle of the aisle or even close to it? Thanks for your help.

Personally, Winchester would probably be the least with Lexington being the most and Staunton the in-between.

You can also get voting patterns from Boards of Elections. Then you can tell which areas are red and blue instead of relying on anecdotal evidence Good luck!

Thanks LynchburgLover. I did spend a bit of time searching for that kind of info online but didn't find what I was looking for. I'll have to keep looking. I thought people's feelings of these places would be as helpful as voting info since the feel of an area can sometimes speak louder than data. For example in the city and surrounding area where I live now the vote goes republican, however, most people visiting or new to the area wouldn't necessarily be able to tell that because I think many people keep their political views to themselves and because of that, mix well with people of all political views. The people in my social group range from very conservative to liberal and it's never been an issue for anyone. So the feel of a city is just as important to me as data on voting although I still agree that it needs looked into. Thanks again!

Here's the information from Politico -- I tried googling " virginia election results by county"

Virginia Election Results 2012 - Map, County Results, Live Updates - POLITICO.com

Warrenton a town within Faquier County.
Winchester incorporated but surrounded by Frederick County
Staunton is within Augusta County
Lexington is within Rockbridge County

All of those areas are basically moderately conservative but each have pockets of liberals. Lexington, for example, has the influence of Washington & Lee which can be more liberal but also has VMI to balance.

Hope you get more answers. Good luck.
