Hello,
I got a ticket on November 1, the officer gave me a 80/70. I called the court and they told me it was $121.46. The officer told me it would cost me a point in my license, so my insurance would definitely increase, now this is my first ticket, I live in North Carolina, I don't know if I have any chances of fighting this ticket.I want to go to court but I don't want to waste a days worth of my check to go fight a ticket if I don't have a good chance of getting a good result out of this. I'm like a 2.5-3 hour drive away. What can I do?
Also is there any other phone number I can call to when calling the combined court in Sussex, the person who answers the phone it's extremely rude.

Pay it. Not worth coming to court. If you have a NC license then you shouldn't see any points. The points would go against a VA license if you had one and it would be 3 points and not 1. This officer has no idea if your insurance will increase or not.

To the best of my knowledge NC and VA don't have reciprocation. I live right on the state line and the 2 tickets I've gotten in VA don't show on my driving record.

NC and VA are reciprocating states. The vast majority are. I believe there are something like 6-8 that are not.

Another vote for pay it. What are you wanting to ask on a phone call? Do you want to say this ticket is bs, and that you don't want to go to court like everyone else? Should the court reduce the ticket because you called? Because you're out of state?
Pay the ticket and be happy it's under $200. Save the tears for the insurance company.
