My fiance and I are living in Woodbridge now and she recently started a job in Tyson's Corner area. I work shift work so my commute is not an issue. However, my sweetheart is about at her whitt's end, with the commute up 123. We're looking in Rockville and Bethedsa and wonder if anyone has any advise on the commutes from these places to the Tyson's Corner area. I know the metros are all around but how is the drive?

thanks for reading,
Charles

I live in Bethesda off of Old Georgetown Road. I hop on 495 and I'm at Tyson's in minutes--but never driven it at rush hour or during the Xmas buying season when traffic invariably is tougher. Best wishes with your househunting!

During rush hour, 270 and 495 comprise a rough commute across the Legion bridge into Tyson's. My experience has been between 15 and 30 minutes from the 270-495 merge to Routes 123 or 7. An accident or construction project will inevitably increase that time. Obviously, the overall commute time will depend on how far north off 270 you choose to live and how far off the Beltway your fiancee's place of employment is.

Good Luck.

We're looking close to the first or second Metro station. She works close right at the top of 123 where it crosses the tysons' corner area a stoplight or two up. How progressively worse does it get the further north you go? Oh, and thanks CHUCKINMD for the good wishes.
