Hello folks,

I wonder if anyone knows a great place to spend a romantic weekend, for example a hotel on a lake, or something like that. Something within an hour drive from Rockville.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Havre De Grace is a nice quaint town on the upper Chesapeake/Susquehanna River. It might be a little more than hour from Rockville, but not that much farther I don't believe. Check it out.

The Inn at Little Washington. Great food and beautiful rooms.

The Bavarian Inn, in nearby Shepherdstown, WV, is famous. And the college-town it's in, is very artsy and bohemian with events such as international film festivals, and folk dancing.

Might be a tad more than an hour, but what about Annapolis or the Inner Harbor of Baltimore?

Also, give people an idea of your budget. Inn at Little Washington is fairly expensive.

You will love the Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast in Middleburg, Virginia. It's in Loudoun County and is located on 47 acres. Our daughter got married there and it was spectacular.

I don't see anything romantic about that setting, but YMMV.
