Le Fantome, situated at The Station at Riverdale Park Development (4501 Woodberry Street), carves out room for three dedicated dine-in stalls, a full-service bar, and six ghost kitchen vendors. The all-day lineup is curated by Hospitality HQ founding partner Akhtar Nawab — an award-winning chef and restaurateur behind Mexican hotspots Alta Calidad in New York and Otra Vez in New Orleans.

Located near the University of Maryland, Hyattsville, and Mount Rainier off the Route 1 corridor, Le Fantome augments Riverdale’s rising reputation as a dining attraction. Its mixed-use complex, also home to Denizens Brewing Co., sits not too far from brisket standard-bearer 2Fifty Texas BBQ.
There is so much winning in this article I think I might cry as a foodie (still ain't got no steak house ). This is exciting! Can't wait to try it out.

This is good news too. Thank goodness they didn't mention student housing.

Are the 3 hotels still open and operating? I wonder how soon they would close if this sale goes through.

Popular grocer Trader Joe’s will open a store this year on the Baltimore Avenue corridor in College Park after being recruited by partners led by the University of Maryland and the Terrapin Development Company (TDC).

“We are all excited to have this new grocery option in Prince George’s County,” she said to cheers from the audience. “This has been a long time coming, and a tremendous amount of work was required to make this happen.”

Aster College Park will open this fall on the site of the former Quality Inn and Plato’s Diner. Located at the corner of Calvert Road, it will offer nearly 400 residential units, two parking garages and 62,000 square feet of retail. The two-building complex, connected by a pedestrian bridge, will also feature outdoor dining and gathering spaces.

It's these small buildings that always look empty to me

Washington Biz Journal had some more details on the retail coming to the Aster building https://www.bizjournals.com/washingt...source=twitter

Crunch Fitness was mentioned here recently, but here is the others: The project will to include nearly 400 multifamily units and 70,000 square feet of retail, which will also include a Crunch Fitness, Roots Natural Kitchen, and Bandit Taco.

Bandit Taco is a mini chain, locations in Leesburg, Tenleytown (by American University), and U Street in DC.

Roots Natural Kitchen has a location in Delaware, and one in Chapel Hill, NC (University of North Carolina)

Not the biggest fans of chains but at least these are already operating in other college towns so maybe that will help them.

It looks like Chic-fil-a has finally found a way to open on Baltimore Avenue. Using
g the old Applebee's location. It is a new visual kitchen delivery concept know as Little Blue Menu which will also house three other restaurants. Only one restaurant currently exists in Nashville with a second in Atlanta to open soon.

Yeah. Probably won't go to Roots Natural Kitchen. Are they a Chipotle competitor? Their menu selection looks lacking. Chicken, Tofu, or mushrooms. Meh. Good luck with that.

Bandit Taco. Do they know they are locating in a heavily Latino residential area? I can throw a rock and hit a taco joint that makes tacos way better than chains. Good luck going head to head with Taqueria Habanero (their tacos Yucatecos and tacos Birria. - MMMMMMM). Not to mention the many other mom and pop Mexican restaurants. I want these places to succeed. But I'm concerned they didn't study the local market enough. We're not exactly hurting for taco joints.

I would settle for a specialty burger chain Like Burger Fi or even Shake Shack closer to campus. College Students don't eat burgers anymore? So we got hot dogs (Dog Haus) and french fries (Mr. Fries) and just one burger joint (5 Guys). Although Dog Haus does serve burgers. So, 1.5 burger joints. Where's the beef? lol. No steak house. lol

I hope they do well. Still excited about the food hall in Riverdale. I think for now that will be my hang out spot.
