I love Montgomery county, especially Germantown and Gaithersburg. The schools are awesome, the neighborhoods are beautiful. Montgomery county seems to be the fastest growing county in maryland. There is new people comming, there is diversity and many great restaurents.

I now live in NC, I hate NC. I will be moving back to Germantown.

WHAT COUNTY CAN BEAT MONTGOMERY COUNTY?

I don't think it should be a competition, especially seeing as it will be based on opinion. Each MD county has their own amenities, and positives and negatives.
Personally, I love Howard, with its excellent schools, low crime, diversity and shopping and dining options. Anne Arundel has some great areas on the Bay, PG is in a great location, and the MD counties across the bridge have great little towns near the bay or ocean.
Just to name a few.

Just curious, where are you in NC and why do you hate it there?

Montgomery County isn't that great.

Its expensive, the people are very unattractive, rude obnoxious and there is a good amount of crime.

Montgomery County has good and bad points. Whether it's the "best county is Maryland" is pretty debatable.

Howard, Anne Arundel, Charles, St Marys, etc al. all have features and characteristics that are better and worse the MoCo.

All counties in MD, just like anywhere in the USA, are going to have their good and less than desirable points. I grew up in AACO and to me nothing is more fun that going down dock street in Annapolis and getting on the boat every August for the Fire Department booze cruise....beautiful waterfront homes and perfect weather...just wonderful. I LOVE Harford County and Howard County for the horse land they offer (as well as northern Baltimore County). The eastern shore is just lovely with the open space and water views.... see where i'm going with this?

Yes! Charlotte sucks! I'm in Eastover, just south of Uptown, and I am continuously amazed at how vain, shallow and vacuous my neighbors are. I think people are probably more normal farther out where you are, but the whole metro area is like a black hole in my opinion -- empty, boring, and a place to stay away from. I'm moving to Montgomery County at the end of the month. Yay!
