It is a very nice place to visit or stay if youy can afford it!
Dupont Circle is one of Washington's many nice sections in the city. It is always bustling with tourists, travelers and residents alike!
There are many things to see and do here. You are never more than a short walk from a place to eat!! Lots and lots of restaurants here at which to dine. Several hotelsn to stay at and stores to shop in.
The area thrives with businesses all up and down the streets. It is a middle-class neighborhood where people live, commute and dine all day and late into the night.
The WMATA's Metro Red Line Subway serves the area to make commuting easy, along with the Metro busses to get you up and down the streets with ease. I really like the area and stay there whenever I go to Washington to visit there!!
I think that it would be a little bit more appreciative if some of you would agree with me or give a positive thought, rather than make a sarcastic remark, such as the one above. I've only been there three times.
You may have been there before me, but a little bit of help or encouragement would be nice. I DID ask has anyone stayed or visited there.

We all (or at least, most of us) agree with you. We do live in the DC area, after all, so Dupont Circle is pretty familiar.
It'd be like one of us telling the Boston forum about this great neighborhood called "Back Bay" and asking if they've heard of it. People on that forum would ask why we were informing them of one of the most established neighborhoods in their city, don't you think?

That's why we have mothers -- to tell us we are wonderful even when we are slow. Your Mom doesn't post here any more. LOL

I'd consider it one of the more expensive neighborhoods in DC. I guess it depends on how you define "middle-class"...
I love Dupont Circle. It's also where the annual Gay Pride Parade is held. I'm a total sucker for cafes and Dupont is chock-full of them. There is Starbucks, Panera Bread, Cosi's, and Joe Mugg all very near each other in the circle. (Actually there are three Starbuckses in Dupont--one on R and Connecticut, one on Connecticut in the circle itself, and one on P street and 21st). If you're not a big fan of the big chains, there's a great coffee place called Soho's on P and 21st, across the street from Starbucks. Lots of times there is some sort of music playing in the circle itself. The other night I came across some great live jazz. It was amazing! Then I found out I knew the people playing lol...but that's another story. Anyway, there's a lot of life in the Dupont area. I'm not so hip on the club/bar scene but maybe someone else can fill the OP in on that scene.
There's also a Krispy Kreme donut shop there right near the south subway entrance. I like their donuts! They're small, but they're soft and kind of puffy!!
