DC Chinablock is a total hellhole filled with the bridge crowd, tourists, and crap you'd find in a lesser version of midtown. Anyone looking for anything other than tourist traps and chain restaurants there is an idiot.

that's basically what i already said.

I only go there for the people-watching and Gallery Place to hit up the Regal Cinema whenever I'm hanging out with my stepbrother.

The REAL scandal is that Chinatowns in New York City, San Francisco and other super-gentrified cities are losing many ethnic Chinese residents. Chinese immigrants and first generation families can't afford the sky-high rents on their apartments and businesses. Whole city blocks are losing their identity to bland, corporate tastes favored by transplanted yuppies. Sad, really.

BTW...the Chinese characters added to corporate chain restaurant and retail shops in DC's Chinatown/Gallery Place district seems like an insult. Chinese characters on the Verizon Center. Those businesses and buildings are not owned by Chinese families or companies. Cultural appropriation by white corporate America at its most shameless.

White people take over everything because they can.

Chinatowns are all fake anyway. Very few people actually born and raised in China in them.

This is happening now in NYC. The residents in Chinatown NYC are being priced out their neighborhoods. They are building expensive luxury buildings in the area. Chinatown NYC will not exist 10 years from now.
