I am just wondering where people go for affordable business attire...Is there a certain mall, shopping center, store, second hand, Nordstrom Rack etc. I know that there are a lot of Interns in DC but there are also those who just want to maintain an affordable budget...just tell me some of your go-to spots for great bargains.

Thanks!

Good Will stores are a great resource for business attire at affordable prices.

Shop the sales at Macy's. Try the Tanger Outlets in Oxon Hill.

This sounds weird, but JC Penny's has a reputation for having very good low end suits per the male fashion threads in reddit. The fashionistas in reddit recommend certain brands sold at JC Pennys over those in at Jos A Banks, which apparently has poorly designed arm holes.

For those willing to spend up to $500, Suitsupply in Georgetown gets very good reviews as well.

I have a suit from JC Penney and I would recommend it, but shop carefully. A lot of their suits are either a) cheap polyester blends or b) cut for older, overweight men. They have a couple nice 100% wool, slim fit suits that cost around $200, but they are only offered in your basic solid colors, so not a lot of variety but just fine for a workhouse suit.

I wouldn't buy a suit from Jos A Bank. Way too boxy and unflattering.

Lol exactly, quite possibly the worst made suits ever and its a shame to see how popular they are in DC and metro area vicinity. Both among govt sector/private sector workers, young and old alike.

$200 can get you a pretty decent, well fitting suit from Macys - Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole etc.

If you can splurge a bit, Banana Republic has really nice suits.

Splurge a bit more - SuitSupply in Georgetown is the place to go
