Horrific. 95 is quite often a parking lot between Springfield and Fredricksburg on the weekends, in my experience. Leave early.

Actually in the freezing cold right now 95 really isn't that bad. There aren't thousands of people driving to the beaches in January.


Maybe expect 30 minutes in delays at absolute most.

yeah if your trip is this Saturday, it shouldn't be too bad at all (Check the weather reports)

Thanks I really appreciate the info, I was being advised not to stay in DC and I would not Beale to make that drive in 5hrs due to traffic.

Yes due to traffic. I'm planing a trip to DC and driving to Norfork for a few days

This time of year if you leave in the morning, it would probably be about 3.5 hours depending on where in Norfolk. If 95 is jammed take the express lanes and save the time. They won't be that expensive on the weekend.
