Yup. NYC is the one place where age, for men or women, does not seem to be a liablity for dating. If you are between the ages of 35-65 and single, no one would blink an eye.

Regarding DC, I do think it is a good place for a guy in his 40s to meet women. There are tons of single female 30-somethings who have postponed marriage in favor of their careers. That said, I agree with the poster who suggested that you cannot go to bars and nightclubs to find them. Wine tastings, group kayaking trips, coffee shops, professional networking clubs, etc, are all better places to meet over-30 singles.

Whenever I visit Arlington or Alexandria, i don't see an overabundance of women. Seems like more men actually. Are there more women in the DC proper?

Default Did you find a locale in DC?

I am 35 and basically have the same questions you do. I am relocating from Atlanta Georgia and am looking for the same input but for the opposite sex? Any luck?

Those are encouraging words to this 43 year old man - especially the advice that I needn't hang out in bars and nightclubs.
