Hi - I've checked out VRBO but are there other sites or do those on this forum know of apartments to rent during inauguration week? Thanks for your help.

If the price were right, I'd rent mine out. I live in Gaithersburg though. There is a good bus to metro here though.

Check craigslist dc. Some are going as high as $1200 a night, from what I've seen. Wonder if they'll come down as time goes by.

I would not count on them coming down. I know of people in downtown and old city neighborhoods who are renting out their houses for $5 - $10K.

I'm in Glover Park and I'm getting $1,500 for five nights.

Taking that money and spending five nights in Grand Cayman.

everyone wins.

I'm in a beautiful two-bedroom condo in Adams Morgan in D.C.'s Northwest. I'm considering offers now.

Hi,
I have a cozy cottage in the Mount Vernon area of Virginia that is available for rental for the inauguration week. It has two bedrooms, sleeps at least four, full bathroom, living room, kitchen (eat-in), family room and a sunroom that is heated. It is fully furnished and has parking. It is about 30 minutes from DC driving. There is public transportation a five minute walk away. It is in a safe and quiet area, approximately 1.1 miles from George Washington's Mt. Vernon estate.

Good for you. You charged a sensible price. It seems like a lot of people around here are trying to make $1500 A NIGHT (for houses in Ashburn and Manassass, no less), as opposed to your much more reasonable $300 a night. Enjoy the Caymans!!!
