I am considering transferring from a school in GA to UW-Seattle because my husband is stationed in Bremerton. Is it realistic to think i can make that commute (from Bremerton to Seattle) several times a week? Does anyone do it?

A lot of people work or go to school in Seattle and commute. The ferry from Bremerton to Seattle is an hour. I want to say UW is about 20 minutes from the Seattle ferry dock, but someone who actually drives this would be the best one to answer. A lot of the folks who ride the ferry to Seattle to go to school spend the time studying, having coffee, waking up, etc. Yes, you could do it....

People do that every day and have done it for YEARS. Its a way of life around here. Bremerton is considered Seattles Bedroom. In that by day they work or school there...and they come home to Bremerton to Sleep. My husband has done both the boat and drive around (he is in construction) and it depends on the schedule and if there is a need for a car on the other side. The boat offers an opportunity to relax or study for an hour before and or after work. Some people walk around the boat in cirlces and call that their work out. Some sleep. . . . Its not unusual at all. Everyday...I would guess at least 1000 people commute to Seattle daily.

Much easier commute than GA to WA to see hubby every now and then.
