Hey, folks. So, I'm going away to college at Evergreen State this fall and am trying to work out transportation on the occasional weekend trip home to the Renton/Newcastle area. I know there's bus transport from Evergreen to a train station, but the school's website isn't the easiest to navigate so I'm not sure if it's Sound or Amtrak or what that I'd be traveling on, and then more specifically where I would end up. My family keeps mentioning Kent as having a train or transit center which would be a perfectly acceptable stopping point.

Jumbled mess aside, anyone know how I could get back and forth? Train is intended method, bus to be expected. A detailed how-to would be fantastic, but pointing out where to find info online or even names of stations or lines would be just as good.

Hope that all made sense, and thanks!

The Sounder is a commuter train for the Everett to Tacoma corridor. You would be using Amtrak (Cascade Corridor: Amtrak Routes and Schedules). My friend attended Evergreen State College, and I *could've swore* she said something about a shuttle taking you to the train station. But otherwise, definitely check into the Vanpooling.

You don't even have to get off at Kent Station Mall, just get off at the Tukwila Station (Longacres)-- you can even take the 140 bus into Renton.

I don't get it- Renton isn't that far from Olympia can't a family member come pick you up and drop you off- otherwise you're spending your weekend hanging out in some bus shelter.
