My son has a soccer game that's a few miles north-ish (off of I-5) of Olympia early on Saturday.

We will probably load up on coffee and pastries before the game and afterwards I want to visit an antique shop in Tenino.

What's good and what's open?

Hard to rely on internet for information. For example, our Starbucks are closed for indoor dining, but a few independents are. Same thing for restaurants. Thought I would ask around....

Our restaurants are open now.

Are you going to be IN Tenino proper? try the Sandstone Cafe. We love it. Good food and neat historic sandstone building.

Olympia area, it really depends what part of Oly you're going to be in.... Do you have an exit number or school you'll be at?

It's the Regional Athletic Complex, taking exit 111.

For many years, whenever driving to Portland or CA we stop at the Farmboy Restaurant just off of I5 on Maytown Road, Exit 95. It's an old-time diner, great food and prices, but. . . it's been open some all along, with the owner in defiance of the state ban, being fined.

That's rough because you're gonna be at the north end and some of my favorites would be out of the way. There's a good cafe though, down in Nisqually Flats - before you go up the hill, that might be an easy place to stop for breakfast. Looked it up... This is it: https://www.medicinecreekcafe.com/ 10322 Martin Way E

There's also a bigger than average drive through coffee shop there in the same vicinity that would have coffee-pastries to go.

That's definitely where I would have lunch then afterwards... Sandstone in Tenino!

So did you go, flyingsaucermom? What did you think of Tenino, and the Sandstone Cafe, if you made it there?

We went out this morning and had a great breakfast. Thought about the Sandstone, but went instead to the Country Cousin in Centralia.
