I feel bad for the guy, not only for losing his home, but for being the target of malice. Throwing fireworks into his yard was inexcusable.

But while some of what was in his yard was art, he was a serious hoarder, with a lot of straight-up junk accumulated in and around his home—it made fighting the fire far more difficult (and dangerous) than it would have been otherwise.

I suspect whoever did it either had a long-standing bitterness against the homeowner regarding the mess, or else was influenced by such a person; either way, I hope they get caught.

Sadness.
What West Seattle park was ordered shut down? I couldn't find anything about this on the internet. Some Seattle parks are on short schedules for the summer, closing in the evenings, but none has been "shut down" that I could find any info on.
