It's mid-July obviously,

It's fire season.

We've gone from 5 to 9 fires in the state in a couple of days.

Okanagon:

Big fire in Okanogan that has locals very worried, an apartment burned down by arson at Sea-Tac causing loss of people's possessions, and a West Seattle park that has been ordered shut down by authorities.

Sadness.

Yeah, I saw the local interviews with people that lived in the apartments of the arson.

It doesn't get worse than that.

Motive?

Fireworks into the dumpster burned an apartment building in Portland last week.

Plenty of 'motive' for landowners who have been without rents for over a yr (Covid eviction ban). Most investor owner properties on left coast are 5-6% 'positive', meaning within a couple months of no rents, the owners are likely losing their life's savings covering the mortgage, taxes, insurance, repairs.

fires threatening thousands of homes in PNW, while record floods hamper western Europe (similar latitiude)...

According to many, someone's playing God with the weather. Motive for that? Just to yank us mere mortals' chains?

Battle Ground had a house burned down due to arson as well. Converted church owned by an eccentric guy that put up a bunch of art with mannequins and such. Targeted with fireworks.

We had a rash of fires along the freeway day before yesterday that seem intentional. Boy I sure hope that doesn't become a thing.

Fire is responding to multiple fires being reported on northbound I-5 between milepost 88 and 101. So far at least 4 to 5 fires have been reported. We have heard at least 7.

There is a report that the fires are being started by a white semi truck going northbound. The semi has exited onto SR 101 and fires are now being reported there as well. A second report says it is a dark blue boxy style SUV that is starting the fires.

A non threatening brush fire is now being reported on SR 101 at Delphi Rd.

DNR Helicopters are also en route to drop water. Mason County is being requested however they also have fires so not sure if they are going to be available.

Another fire is reported by Madronna Beach Rd.

Linderson Rd is being shut down.

Fires are now being reported on SR 8.

Smokey is up alerting fire crews of locations of the fires.

Fires in Mason County are threatening structures.

WSP PIO Trooper Robert Reyer is on scene. Please drive careful to protect all first responders.

TCOMM is aware of the fires and being inundated with phone calls. Fire crews are either on scene or en route. Please do not continue calling.

Update: We just got off the phone with WSP PIO Trooper Reyer and they are currently looking for a darker blue/black boxy style SUV that witnesses have said is responsible for the fires. The white semi may have started some but the other vehicle is definitely a suspect. The fires could have been started intentionally.

Unfortunately... 'that' is a 'thing',. Previously by bored / thrill seeking ex-firefighters, now.... Homeless, fringe groups, terrorists, careless... Kid's (irresponsible, as in Columbia River Gorge, 3x)

I expect the 'misbehavior' seen on air flights will spill over.... More shootings, road rage, animosity. (As seen right here on WA C-D forum).
