2. I forget. Used to be a website for cleanup. Not all vineyards are as far east as the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. I would guess most of vineyards are further north and west of Hanford. Many vineyard acres in the Willamette Valley too. I am not that interested in discovering the exact acreage in the regions.

The "high end" vineyards are all around the Hanford site.

Horse Heaven Hills and Walla Walla vineyards are the high end. One is pretty close to Hanford, the other is within prevaliing winds.

Nothing wrong with the Willamette Valley wines...but they are wimpy. Real men do NOT drink Pinot Noir's on a regular basis. A good Pinot Noir is hard to fine.

But lots of people enjoy the hunt.

^Yes, the joy is in the hunt.
Alas my diabetes2 is getting so bad in respect to alcoholic beverages, that even a large sip of wine (Willamette Vineyards, Pinot 2015), triggered tunnel vision at my son's wedding today.
I favored thick wines, Merlot, tempranillo, Pinots, Syrah, ports.

I fixed some fish tonight, but ran the Geiger Counter over it just to be sure it was not too hot. Especially since it was pacific salmon that hangs out in Japan waters before heading back to USA fisheries.

Unfortunately, I cooked it on my envir friendly induction cooktop, so my emi meter went nuts. I'm toast. (Again)

I'll have some more Merlot and should be fine for another day or two.

I realize it's a losing battle ... I need to make it just a few more years as I have two senior cats I want to make sure enjoy the rest of their little fur lives. But, I have been done with this place for a while now...

I used to dirt bike in that area a couple times a year. The Hanford issues are real. My dad's friend was a science teacher, and brought a geiger counter with him from the school. The level was "safe", but elevated well above typical ambient readings.

https://www.rt.com/usa/342142-radiat...-nuclear-site/

Apparently the site "burps" radiation from time to time resulting in very high unsafe reading spikes.

Yeah, Governor Inslee is clueless when it comes to this issue.

I eat fish and seafood, seven days a week. Yesterday, for the first time in two weeks I had hamburger.

Yet, Governor Inslee keeps telling me it is unsafe to eat fish or seafood more than a couple of times a week. That is what I eat.........

Hey, Governor Inslee, how about making my food SAFE to eat.

WAIT, did the National Cattlemen's Beef Association contribute to Governor Inslee??

We have the "best government money can buy".

I haven't listened to anyone in government to base my decision on. I remember I came home from the gym and turned on CNN and watched that tsunami in Japan in real time. It left a lasting impression on me.
