Lewiston, ID/Clarkston, WA is relatively dry with only around 12 inches of precipitation per year, most of that in the spring, or quick summer downpours. Snowfall tends to be light compared to surrounding areas. One of the hotter areas in the NW during the summer, though.

No big deal, but it looks those intellicast snowfall stats are MIA. I find it hard to believe Clarkston averages no snowfall whatsoever!

I think the main purpose of the OP's question was to verify/unverify their belief that "it rains a lot in WA". Rain is what everybody seems to think about when they hear "Washington". It's like the whole eastern part of the state doesn't exist to most people, and/or it is assumed that WA is completely "Evergreen" and rainy (a la Seattle).

I would think anybody that goes to Lewiston/Clarkston for the first time would be surprised at what they see.

I agree. Lewiston/Clarkston is quite scenic with the mountains and confluence of two major rivers. Now if they could just do something about the smell...

Like they say...it smells like money!

And, you're right about the snowfall figures missing. It does snow some, I've shoveled it! But, it's not often, long-lasting, or bad. You'll see a lot more snow up on the hills than you ever will in town.

The NOAA's weather station at Lewiston-Nez Perce County Airport reports an annual snowfall of 12.5 inches.
