We might see some 40s pop up in northern NY, VT, NH and Maine Thursday and Friday nights

Hope Saskatchewan's luck is better than what the rest of Canada's has been lately!

2.6" inches here but almost before July 1st. 9 days without any significant rain! Plants may wither and die in this heat if this dry spell doesn't end.

In other news, we're under a flash flood watch till tomorrow afternoon. Finally will getting a good chance of rain tonight. Slight fog this morning. 73°F out.

Record high on this date is supposedly 106 F/41 C in 1936. I have my doubts about it though.

Hm.. GFS says 'no' to any appreciable breakdown in the above-average temperatures for the reliable time frame away from Scotland and Northern Ireland

For here, the maximums are:

24C
30C
27C
26C
26C
23C

One mustn't complain about that if it's warmth and sun you're after.. perhaps this July will be the warmest for 7 years?

100 years to the day since Death Valley recorded a temperature of 134.6F at Furnace Creek. 100 years later it's still the hottest temperature ever recorded.
