201.0 hours / 10.1 per day for the first 20 days. Not bad considering we had 0.0 hours on Tuesday.

Update: Needed 9.5 hours today to reach the 28-day mark of 300.6 - looking good now if things stay clear a couple of hours longer.

145 to the 20th although we surpassed the 100 hour mark after the 11th day.

Reflects the sunny start we had, as well as the cloudiness that followed.

The only station using C-S measurement that I am aware of in the US is at Blue Hill, MA.

This is from their website for the month of January, 2013.

Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory

The observed bright sunshine for the month was 55 percent of possible..
Value is 9% above long term average.

That would be a total of 162 hours based on duration of daylight for January 2013.

Remember though that if it's C-S, the measurable duration would be less than the astronomical duration (and that's ignoring any obstructions).

Some impressive totals there!

Our monthly average is being dragged in a southward direction as the month continues. To the 24th, our total is 173 hours (avg of 7.2 hours/day). We've only had one day since the 11th that exceeded 10 sunshine hours.

We've had some big falls this month with 45.2mm recorded yesterday and given we are currently experiencing rain (some bursts quite intense) I expect our monthly total could easily exceed 200mm. Consequently, I expect very little sunshine between now and the 28th.

Long range forecast is for more rain and another system later this week.

March for a bounce-back? At least you're well ahead of the record Feb. low (of about 98 hours I think).
