Island climate battle: Ireland vs. Vancouver Island (snow, warm, city)

Which of these temperate islands do you prefer? Ireland is about 2.5 times as big and is a bit further north but quite a bit less mountainous. I think I'll go for ireland for having the milder winters despite having overall much lower sunshine.
Vancouver Island has a large variety, too. This location has warmer summers but probably more snow (46 inches / season) than any sea level location in Ireland:
Victoria has winters roughly the same as the mildest city in Ireland (Cork?) but it's prone to cold spells, I'd say they're the best each island has to offer. Summers are somewhat warmer and much sunnier so even with the extra cold spells I'd place Victoria ahead. Gold River like much of the western part of the island gets socked with rain for half the year, but nice summers.

That palm looks great, it would look really out of place in ireland with snow around.
