Well im in a valley and im at 40 m and 10 miles from the sea. But our winds usually come in the summer from the west or southwest so theroetically in the summer I could be 70/80 miles from the sea as the ocean does not blow air here.

Interesting. When the wind blows over land, t does negate the effect of the sea somewhat. During S or SE air flow, the direction is overland, so here is (in effect) several hundred miles from the nearest ocean.
I'm about 1.5km from the sea and 110 metres asl. It would be interesting to see the altitudes and distance from the sea, of other posters.

Well usually when it is coming from the North our nights are not as cold because the wind will blow off the sea. In the summer if the sea is still cold the wind can come in a really peg the temperatures. Like right now the sea is 8c, it could be and only be 9c at the coast but 25c like 50 miles inland. I have seen something that in the summer.
But in the night time we don't usually get cold temperatures with northernly air-masses as the wind will blow from the north and warm us up. We need a North easterly, Easterly or Westerly.
Owen is again exaggerating. We have an average of 3 frosts in May, and had a single one in June during the last 30 years. So does Helsinki, their last frost in June was in 1997. And yes, we are 60N. If it's -0.5C in NI in mid May, that should be quite unusual.
I can bet 100€ that owen's location haven't had a single frost in June since he was born.

I'm 156 km (97 miles) from the English Channel as the crow flies. Though NW flows are less common than W or SW flows. In this case, I'm 379 km (235 miles) from the Atlantic. Also, 111 m (364') asl.
2012 - 2 frosts. With one being -2.9c. Oh yea -0.5c is sooo cold for may.
