Lows in the 40s to me, is a sure fire signifier (try saying that 5x fast) that fall has arrived. I'd like to see the first lows in the 40s between September 7-12th. But not on typical nights til around September 25th. We don't average a low in the 40s til September 22nd but we certainly can expect it sooner. Have yet to see it happen in summer, though. (Latest 40s I've seen are in May)

When would I like... (average)

First low in the 40s: September 10

Average lows in the 40s: October 18 - November 3 (my dream climate is quite continental, hence the short window)

What I actually get... (average)

First low in the 40s: September 22

Average lows in the 40s: October 15 - November 8

Lows in the 40s? I'd like them occasionally in the middle of summer, so...first half of July. I'd like the average low to drop below 50 around the end of August, and below 40 in late September.

In real life, about half of years see a low in the 40s in July, and the majority of years have one in June and August.

I would like it to start mid of October and last till mid of March, but that's not going to happen in S. Texas.

On average the first low in the 40s in fall is September 26 in the OKC area. Sometime around then or a little earlier is probably what I'd prefer. The average low drops into the 40s on October 21, and I'd prefer it if that happened a couple weeks earlier.

Get them every month of the year here, and they're no big deal, so just whenever.

I wish I lived in a place where a low in the 40s never or extremely rarely happens but where I live, sometime in September I am sure it will happen.

For my ideal climate:

Average first low in the 40s: ~ October 15

Average lows in the 40s: ~ November 21 - March 24 (The coldest average lows in midwinter would be around 40F.

For my real climate:

Average first low in the 40s: September 8

Average lows in the 40s: September 27 - November 15

Yeah, I prefer warmer climates but I also like to have a mild cool season.
