Some photos I took on Sunday ( Sept 29) from a bike ride. Patchy color showing up:

We think different out here:

Yellow!

patches of color on the hillside:

red ivy:

Stonewalls used to mark the edge of a farm field:

from a lookout tower:

cloud shapes on the top of the hills:

some more red:

mostly green:

evening light:

after sunset, I saw patches of isolated fog right on the ground. Must be some intense radiational cooling. Taken around 6:45 pm. Temperatures were dropping fast — 15°F / 2 hours.

Very nice photos, Nei! Looks like the timing for your color is very similar to here, 43 degrees N in MI.

Things are shaping up nicely in MA! Looks much better than even peak foliage here. The first from the lookout tower seems pretty advanced, with lots of red.

Green to red ivy

Chestnut trees are already bare.

This gum tree decided to play solo.

What am I breathing? #2

No hint of leaf decay there:

This eagle probably hasn't heard about the government shutdown:

Since there's not much foliage to show yet, here's some concrete for y'all:

Some of the last interesting cloudscapes of the year
