Yes, much of northern Italy, especially the areas close to the Alps, have hot summers (average highs of 28-30°C in July and August) and abundant summer rainfall: Milan, Verona, Venice, Trieste, Udine, Bolzano, Turin.
Look at Verbania, Piedmont if you like hot summers with great rainfall (both due to atlantic depressions and convective thunderstorms), it's impressive:
I vote for New Zealand. Warm and tropical on the North Island, very temperate on the South Island. Australia has terrific heat waves and droughts that set off terrible fires, and not infrequently at that.
Yep that's an "A" summer. I generally like the French Med climates overall , but the tendency towards extended dry periods during summer, is a negative.

To me the dry mediterranean summers are a positive thing, but everyone has his tastes.
You have Toulouse also, french 4th city, that is classified as subtropical humid, but more dry than Lyon and warmer, borderline mediterranean but lot wetter than Marseille. Toulouse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And probably many other cities in the interior of the south-west: Agen, Albi, Montauban, Bergerac, etc.. Or even Bordeaux, wich is more oceanic and relatively "cooler", average 26.6°C and is much wetter summer than Toulouse. The same for Clermont-ferrand and many other places such as Grenoble, etc.
Besançon is wetter, though not particularly warm. I once was caught in a rainstorm there in June. The precipitation rates aren't higher than in Paris, but they tend to last much longer. Besançon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmm. France (and the interior western Europe) has a bunch of climates that straddle the border between oceanic and continental. Something we don't really get, though the Pacific Northwest might closest. But precipitation patterns are different enough that you wouldn't mistake it for Portland, OR. Or New York City.
South Africa. Perfect mix of Mediterranean, Arid and Subtropical. No other country comes close. You could land me anywhere in South Africa and I'd rate the climate an A- at the very least:
