You bring up a very good point Jammie... I don't ever remember a time of "normal" weather. Part of the reason that weather anomalies get overhyped and make people think that the world is spiraling out of control is because we're entering the age of mass communication and we can find out with a moments notice of a rainstorm in India, snow in Iraq, dust in Monterrrey . With constant inflow of information that people have never seen before, the magnitude of the sums of the events get blown way out of proportion.
If you read old articles, they thought the world's weather was crazy way back then as well. If the weather wasn't crazy, why would we need meteorologists?
Anthony, I was happy to see that you felt the same way since you're a meterologist. I'm interested in weather, but have never studied it or anything so it's good to know that a pro sees it the same way.
SAB, I'm not sure if it was on this thread, but I last night I read your post saying that at least it's not 10 below like at my house. Fifty two years of these winters have gotten the best of me and this was my last winter here. We're heading south.
I haven't checked my temps for about three hours, but it was 39 with a windchill of 32 earlier this morning. Our days are becoming MUCH more pleasant, but the fluctuations aren't good for the aches and pains.
Steve-O, I saw that you were expecting snow this morning. I also saw some of the flooding that's been going on and was wondering if any of our members were near it.
Well, here is my updated weather report for tonight and tomorrow. We will for sure go over the record snowfall this season.

[inserts humor] By the sounds of it from this thread... me, Jammie, SAB, ColdCanadian, and others are advocates of Global Warming.
