60's in Cleveland??? Goodness, you do realize you're going to have horrible ice jams in that weather. You can have your warmth, but sudden warmth like that can't be anything but bad news.

Not to mention winter sports enthusiasts are probably puking right now.

Moderator cut: removed words it was HOT AS HELL overnight! My mum, being a genius, decided to turn the air con off for the night in order to save energy, hence sleep was not possible.

Temps overnight stayed in the high 80's until around 6am when it dropped to 76ºF which is the overnight minimum for Berwick - and one of the highest in the state for the night. The city recorded 73ºF as its overnight min. But as I said before, that hides the real truth - it was high 80's the entire time before 6am.

Apparently an even worse blast of heat is coming during the next 2 weeks. Next Friday looks damn hot with 580dm thickness reaching Melbourne and 850hPa temps at 80F/26C. Thursday night in Friday will likely be a night so hot that not using aircon all night will cause us to die.

Currently at 10:00AM it's 77 with some thick ugly overcast stratus. Quite humid aswell.

What's the temp in your bedroom?

For me, once I get acclimatized to summer I can sleep without the smallest beads of sweat forming under a 1 inch thick comforter at 82 F (28 C) and a dewpoint at 75 F (24 C) which is like 75% relative humidity.

I like to sleep with room temperature between 75-84 F or 24-29 C. (with a ceiling fan of course )

Probably not...
Most cities on the Great Lakes are several feet above the lake, so usually when we get a strong mild spell, if there's snow and ice around it just gets really sloppy.

Why would a winter sports enthusiast expect uninterrupted "winter sports weather" in Cleveland?
They have the mildest climate in the Great Lakes and they aren't even that far north.

*I wish Ohio's Lake Erie coast was a part of Canada; some plants grow well there that can't grow here at all.

Even Toronto gets mild spells melting snow every few weeks in a normal winter.
I suspect that Cleveland on average only stays below freezing "all-day-long" for half the days of January and February at most.

Except Cleveland and eastward gets lots of lake effect. So I'd assume things such as snowmobiling are popular. I wouldn't know though, I've never been there in the winter. I know it's popular in Iowa though, equal latitude.

Oh yeah, snowmobiling is HUGE here, at least in my circle of friends.
Same with skiing and snowboarding...

But nah, we don't need snow to have a blast snowmobiling...
...we wait for these occassional thaws to come around
and then we hit the smaller lakes in the area that have thawed nicely...

and just .....pin it!!

The normal high for this time of year is 34 degrees.
