30F definitely. Put on a little clothing and it would actually be pretty pleasant. Won't have to worry about over heating and sweating very much!

I've done both.

I like both.

I probably prefer 30F, providing the weather is calm and not too windy or humid.

30C is manageable if you carry water with you.

30 °C no contest, especially that 30 °C isn't a really hot temperature except for people who absolutely hate heat.
Let's face it, it's just unpleasant to walk in a cold 30 °F weather.

30C. 30F is just too cold to be outside for extended periods of time.

I, and I'm sure others, disagree with you very much.

30 °F is a good temperature for physical activity. As your body warms up, the cold bothers you less and you start to appreciate it. In addition to that you can put on more clothing to feel as warm as you'd like! For me and I'm sure for others the exact opposite is true in 86F. After living in Florida for 4.5 years I can tell you first hand that I strongly dislike mid 80's+. I don't get very far unless I'm bicycling and even then it becomes uncomfortable after a few miles.

30c.

5 miles isn't far for me. My old college used to be a 3.5 mile walk there and then back again. I remember a family holiday in southern England back in 1996 where we walked 12 miles in 30 degrees, pretty awful actually, but 5 miles I wouldn't mind.

Er no. If you wear a big coat and its sunny/with snow it can get very hot at -1.

Hot at -1? I've never had that before. Whenever I have experienced temperatures that low, it was never pleasant. I was always wrapped up and looking to get inside as soon as I could

Well obviously you don't experience it that often then.
