These are the snow totals the latest NAM says. It's alone in this thinking although the latest Euro did show a ton of precip too

More updates from Atlanta:

Tomorrow's weather: 38 with rain in the forecast
Tomorrow Night: Rain changing to freezing rain around 3:00am
Wednesday: High: 33 Freezing Rain/Rain

Ice accumulations expected of 1/4" to a 1/2". Schools, government, universities all closed already for Tuesday and Wednesday. State of Emergency declared in north and central Georgia. Definitely overcompensating due to the last storm - not expected to be bad here until Wednesday. They are saying on the news this could be an ice storm of historic proportions - worse than we've seen in decades (I've heard that A LOT here this winter). Expect to be without power for days. I'm ready with propane for the grill, wood for the fire, candles and flashlights. Luckily, we are expected to be in the upper 40's or low 50's Thursday, and 60's by the weekend. So, we won't freeze without power, but it'll still be annoying.

Winter Storm warning extended southward this morning south of Macon, GA.

Currently in Atlanta: 40 degrees and rain.

Snow and sleet falling in the northern suburbs of the city, no longer expected to push south into the city today. This will change tonight, when around 3:00AM Wednesday morning, officials are describing the coming ice storm as potentially catastrophic. Atlanta now expected to also get around 2 inches of snow, plus 1/2"+ of ice. Northern suburbs into the mountains expecting HUGE amounts of snowfall for this area: 5"-6" with isolates 7 or 8 inch amounts. South and east of the city down to Macon is expected to be purely an ice storm, with up to an inch of snow.

This is a VERY dynamic storm changing every minute. It will be interesting to see how it actually pans out. Cambium - I'd love to see your analysis if you've been looking at this area at all.

It was in the 60's this past weekend, some 70's the weekend before, and always a bit colder in the middle of the week. 60's expected again this weekend. This is one hell of a roller coaster winter!
