Way too much data is missing for that station using WO. I bet that accuweather's data is correct. They must have 100% of the data for the London City Airport which isn't available on WO.

If they want a representative location, they should really be using Heathrow, Kew, or Greenwich though.
That's a different argument. Not that I disagree with you. At least now we know that they are using a real site in London.
Their figures would give the month an average high of 17.7c, which is over 1c cooler than the highest and coolest part of London (Hampstead). Greenwich which is just on the other side of the river, about 2 miles away has an average high of 20.0c for 1981-2010. LCY was only built in 1987.
15% of missing data isn't going to make the average high for a 20 year period drop by 2c! Since 1996 at Heathrow, only 3 Septembers have had a high below 19.0c, and the coldest of those was 18.1c.

How did you come to that figure? Adding the high on the 1st and last day of the month isn't going to give an accurate monthly average.
For example the high at MDW on the 1st is 80.9F and on the 30th, it's 71.1F. Simply adding the two and dividing by 2 gives me 76F, however, the 30 year average is 75.3F.

It doesn't sound accurate at all.
I'll email them again and ask how many years of data are they using
Because September has a steady decline in temperatur through the month. It also sounds completely ridiculous that the start of October is only 0.5c warmer than October as a whole.
Put simply, their stats are not worth using. They are massively inaccurate, and I'm not sure why you take them seriously.

Well they are correct for here, so I can't understand why they would be so far off for overseas locations. They can't be THAT stupid as to not use official data available to them.... I'm just trying to figure it out.

I just checked for Bologna and they show an average high of 31c for september 1st and an average high of 25c for september 30th. Our average high for the entire month is 25.4c, so I guess they have gone a bit too far with that global warming thing (today went up to 32c, but it's not always warmer than average)
Well the last 17 years has an average high of 19.3 with 85% data completion.
