Today alone has been enough to bring July's mean max to an average value (21.3C).

Still 31C at 18:36.

Prior to the 1960's AC wasn't common, but those temps still were. Definitely much better to have AC.

Your 'mild' winters would still be record breaking cold here.
Yeah, I know, and what does that to do with anything lol. Plus Ryan Maue who made that tweet lives in Florida.

Not only A/C, but building construction and acclimation. But my point is that, the average American likely tolerates heat better than the average Brit, our averages are warmer than yours, and we experience these temperatures on a regular basis.

I doubt it. Our humidity isn't any different than Europe when they get a heatwave.

Right now it is 86F with a dewpoint of 60F and feels a lot better than yesterday. And not a thunderstorm yet around here, even yesterday. I haven't seen a thunderstorm in Philly yet this summer. What is the point of high dewpoints if you get zero tstorms?

Meh, as long as there are no wasps or hornets. Hate those things.

I love seeing local honeybees ever since I started eating only raw unprocessed honey. It is amazing and highly recommend it with peanut butter. Yum!!

^^

You're incorrect big time.... not talking about the coastal Med. You said London.. Just go to wunderground and compare peak heat/dew points. They are miles apart.

Lol how the heck does he know they can't cope as he isn't really there right now.

I briefly followed Joe Bastardi on twitter today, and immediately unfollowed him. He is extremely political ranting about Obama and apparently loves Trump. Every other tweet is a rant against Democrats and Obama or Hillary. Geez.

That guy is a complete crackpot.

ot.
Probably basing it off of news media reports over sensationalizing it.
