the early june heat wave was gone from accuweather for 2 days now but its back on towards the end of the first week of june.

Well clouds and showers kept our temps down ORD only reached 73F/23C (so far), MDW 77F/25C and the lakefront 75F/24C. My suburb hit also reached 77F/25C.

JFK as well meanwhile NYC hit 88.

Southeast CT (Groton) high of 71. Nantucket 66.

Current temps.

NYC still 80°. JFK 70°

A usual scene in the Northeast. It warms above normal and so does the humidity.

Current anomaly on left, actual on right.

HOURLY DEPARTURE FROM 1981-2010 AVG

Caribou 17 above normal with the temp, 16 above normal with the dew point.

The line of storms lost some intensity as it came thru my area last night, but it still brought some strong winds which came ahead of heavy rain. Also plenty of lightning, but it seemed the strikes were more intense with a storm ahead of the main line.
