Those storms came through here late this afternoon, and we've still been getting some drizzle. I ended up with 0.52 inches.

The lightning wasn't much, but the winds got pretty strong a few times. Some of my okra plants are leaning over.

High of 91 F. We only had a 20 percent chance of rain today when I got up this morning. The storms were originally forecast to stay to my north today. However, some individual cells started popping up in my area late this afternoon and one of them grazed me around 6 PM. Less than a tenth of an inch fell. I might get more storms later tonight.

Rainfall totals 5am Thursday to 5am today per radar estimates. Looks like parts of Litchfield County CT missed out! While Southeast CT Groton got good soaking.

Hartford 0.86"
I had 1.3" here.
Bridgeport 1.26"
NYC 1.58"
Islip 2.30" a record for yesterdays date & 5th largest rainfall total for a September day!
Philly 4.76" a record for yesterdays date & 2nd largest rainfall total for a September day!

MRMS Radar Estimates (Choose Single Product Maps Top left...then QPE at the Top and draw box on map)

Zoomed out a little more. Definitely was a coastal thing this time and believe it or not there is a storm off the coast right now.. I hope this is the new pattern !

Would love to wake up to those temps in mid September. Wonder how many saw frost. Poor farmers. Didn't they have a late frost or a late start because of how cold the ground was?

How much did you get? I know you have a rain gauge by now. From the radar estimate I assume less than 1.50" like me.

BTW .......... For the first time this season the freezing line at 850mb has entered into the U.S this morning. Normal is +8C over MN so it's below normal even for them!
