That building used to be called the RCA building when I was a kid. It's awesomely huge. Just wait until you stand underneath it - that building is a true monster.
Hmm. Never thought about that building as a particularly large or impressive Manhattan skyscraper.

While I might envy you going to NYC - I certainly don't envy the timing - the city in summer is not for me! Fall, winter, spring - yes, but not high summer. I suggest you dress cool (shorts, thin shirt.)
It might not be too hot, but his chances aren't great. It's the time of the year when Manhattan smells of rotting garbage... I'll probably be in NYC for a few days mid or late July, staying on the couch of an un-airconditioned apartment.

Oh man, why put yourself through that torture? I suggest taking a road trip up the coast of Maine instead.

When I was a kid, I was nutz about skyscrapers - I thought they were the coolest thing in the world. I've always had a particular fascination for the Empire State Building, the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower), the Chrysler Building (I gotta say that one's my fave) and the old Twin Towers (RIP).
The 23-story Reynolds Building in my hometown was built by the same architect who did the Empire, and they're quite similar in looks - except the Empire is about 4x as big...lol.
Looks like Florida is sunnier than the Mediterranean in summer nowadays.
Sunrays reach the ground around midday, means that the street isn't quite narrow enough. The crumbling walls don't look reassuring.
Nice by night

Speaking of skyscrapers, you didn't post your pics of Provins did you?
