First note 2 things... Neglect (weeds) and this bed is under trees.
Weeds closeup
Simply amazing how it looks without weeds. Now time to dig for the Potatoes.
See where the bed is located? gets about 3 hours of afternoon sun. Who said small potatoes can't grow in shade?
It's like excavating for Dinosaur bones. Have to be very careful not to cut the Potato. Minor cuts will heal.
Soil is very dusty. No rain in 1 week
Ta Da. 53 of them.
Red & Yellow Done. Until next year. What a day to be outside. INCREDIBLE Energy and motivation being able to breath and not drip with sweat with bugs eating you.
Ioannina today during this really heavy thunderstorm!!! One of the heaviest in the city. 89,8 mm fell in just one hour. The temperature from 36 C fell to 20 C in just 30 minutes. Strong winds, many thunders, floods at roads, power cut in the city and other damages.
Photo by the web camera of the station.

Your pics are making me hungry. I need to find a better place to buy vegetables than the supermarket. The stuff they sell there has little taste and way less nutrients than their "normally grown" counterparts. Though I certainly couldn't be bothered with maintaining a kitchen garden.

I didn't really notice the rarefied air at 9,900 ft either, although I feared that altitude sickness could occur coming from sea level without acclimatization. I felt the difference going up a 12,600' mountain on a cable car though.
These pics sure are making me looking forward to my week-long stay in central New York - I'll have plenty of time to get out and explore the countryside. So much prettier up there than down here in the heat-ravaged South.
Looks like I missed some posts. Will have to back track.

Love red barns! Forgot to ask, there was a photo of an icy/snowy road few posts back (I think CA). Did you bike that? I will assume you got off and walked that road. Not sure how far though.
Those open area farm land makes me cozy inside. lol Another busy weekend here so no hiking. Missed my opportunity with this great stretch of dry weather.
