It can help with rain I guess, but generally I say you can expect rain 2-3 times a week in winter.. dry months in winter tend to be much more rare than in March-September. It would only help with knowing the day or time that it would rain, but then most of the time you'd wear a coat with a hood in winter anyway..

Of course, the occasional cold snap or snow can happen, but in the case of a major snowfall event with lying snow, it is rarely more than once a winter.

Usually for us in winter we get rain once or twice a week. Stretches of sunshine, then cloudy with some rain. The forecast will help when it switches between the two.

I can't remember the rainfall day figures for here, but we rarely get long stretches of more than a couple of days of completely sunny days in winter.. cloudy without rain is a common occurrence

summer must be the easiest time, since the pressure pattern tends to last for longer time periods.

Also the fact that max temps can either be in the 20s or 50s and that would mean either wearing long pants or shorts.

Clouds or Sun means bring sunglasses or expect it to feel chilly without the sun

Rain or snow, bring umbrella or shovel

Nighttime lows, start the fire or close the windows early.

Temps dropping during the day, bring extra sweatshirt with you.

Umm, I wouldn't ever wear shorts in the winter. Most people here don't.

Lol. Even if its in the 50s which would be like fire in winter for us? I guess 60s you would but how many times does that happen there in winter.

I think a better question for the thread would be a poll that asks, what temp range and precip amount do you think would require no forecasts?

Even if it's warm for winter, it's still cool and cooler than usual indoor temperature in all seasons. I mean, few people keep their house at 50s and if my house is 60°F I'm not wearing shorts inside. If you meant for running or similar, sure; but the season won't matter.

No month here is that predictable, but September comes close; mild temperatures, no cold or heat waves, occasional showers.
