Part of North Carolina mountains now past peak. Always interesting to see which higher elevation is similar to here. Looks like Hickory would be. Ha. Fitting name too. Or Greensboro maybe

Some photos I took today in "piazza Carlo Felice" in Turin. It is a square just in front of the main train station, and there is a nice little park in it. So that I had 20 spare minutes before my train left, I decided to go there to see the foliage.
In that park the tree are still more green than orange/yellow, it was not so different from what I saw some weeks ago in another park of Turin.
In general I had the impression that our trees seem a little "hesitant" about what to do, some trees are still really green while others are already nearly completely orange. I think that the problem is that we didn't have really cold temps yet (the lowest temperature this month in Turin was about 4°C, so we haven't had any frost yet).
In the next days I would like to post some photos about the situation here (so that I live at an higher situation than Turin the foliage is a little more advanced), but I'm not sure that I will have enough time for that...
Nearly half of the deciduous trees are bare or past peak, and close to a quarter are still green, leaving only one quarter of the trees with good foliage. But it is strange how many bare and green deciduous trees we have at the same time.

yeah oak trees make up most of the green deciduous trees. many oak trees wont peak until mid December and don't be surprised if you see a few even towards Christmas that still have leaves. here in eastern wake county its pretty weird. The forests deciduous trees maybe 50% are past peak maybe 30% still green and 20% completely bare. I have some pictures maybe I will upload them later. the pics are pretty nice and a lot of grass still green, Bermuda grass has patchy green spots but mostly dormant. my fig tree despite the frosts is still green but I think tonight's frost has done it and now the leaves will drop off pretty rapidly.
Some deciduous trees are peaking right now, but many never really get good fall foliage. I'd say this year is probably worse than last year.
I haven't been able to get any good pics, but here are two I just took.
